England 1174: King Richard is away fighting the Crusade, his brother Prince John has been left in charge. In order to further international diplomatic relations with Norway, the beautiful young Maid Marian is to be married off to a prince. A cursed girl who can change into a ferocious dragon is used to find and pacify Robin Hood.

Stars modern day b-movie stars Erica Durance, Katerine Isabelle and Robin Dunne, as well as legendary Julian Sands. All of whom give the expected performances.

"Beyond Sherwood Forest" is basically the tradition Robin Hood story with a Stargate type twist thrown in, so it could air of the SyFy channel. It is also a pretty good movie, though not action packed, as it focuses more on story, which itself focuses more on the "Maid Marion" character, then Robin Hood himself, than it does action. It is however a classic story for a reason, and with the solid acting, recognizable names, and adequate CGI effects makes for a solid retelling of the story.
