Bugged (1997)
Sc-Fi/Horror Rated PG-13
Plot
An entertaining low-budgeter with an agreeably goofy sense of humor, Bugged puts a comic spin on the "insects amok" subgenre. Thanks to a van accident, some canisters of a genetic mutating agent get mixed up with pesticide being delivered to an extermination company. Two of the company's workers unwittingly spray some pesky crickets with the DNA chemical … and are soon confronted with a horde of giant insects!
Acting
The entire cast is on the same level, below average, but above terrible. The performance overall fit with the movie quite well. Also features the most enjoyable Lloyd Kaufman intro I've seen to date.
Gore
Lots of giant bugs get smashed up and spew out blood, as does one or two people.
Sex/Nudity
None
Final Thoughts
Bad Special effects, bad script, generic storyline, and decent directing, but an entertaining movie. Another fine example of a "so bad, it's good" movie, and despite it being release through the Troma DVD label, its is not a comedy, and is only comical because it is so badly made. As long as you are a bad movie fan, watch it.
