A troubled couple and their blind daughter come to Italy to visit a 12th Century castle they've inherited. Soon they are plagued by unexplained noises, mysteriously broken objects, and the daughter's claims of an unknown nocturnal visitor to her bedroom. When the housekeeper and a local prostitute and are discovered savagely murdered in the castle's dungeon, John must unlock the castle's secret to save himself from jail and his family from the castle's secret inhabitant.

Jonathan Fuller does a very good job as the creature, and it features Stuart Gordon regulars Jeffrey Combs (who is his usual, good but sometime over-the-top self), and Barbara Crampton.

Not overly gory, but certain enough of it.

A prostitute is seen fully nude during a sex scene, and topless later on when the freak bites of her nipples.

I haven't seen a whole lot of Stuart Gordon stuff, and have never been much of a fan of "Re-Animator" but i did like this movie, its has a very interesting story, and enough gore and decent acting to keep it from dragging at all, even in the middle where the family drama happens. Definitely worth at least 1 viewing, and a can't miss for fans of Staurt Gordon and Full Moon.
