The Descent: Part 2
Horror Rated R
Plot
Distraught, confused, and half-wild with fear, Sarah Carter emerges alone from the Appalachian cave system where she encountered unspeakable terrors. Unable to plausibly explain to the authorities what happened - or why she's covered in her friends' blood - Sarah is forced back to the subterranean depths to help locate her five missing companions. As the rescue party drives deeper into uncharted caverns, nightmarish visions of the recent past begin to haunt Sarah and she starts to realize the full horror and futility of the mission. Subjected to the suspicion and mistrust of the group and confronted once more by the inbred, feral and savagely ruthless Crawlers, Sarah must draw on all her inner reserves of strength and courage in a desperate final struggle for deliverance and redemption.
Acting
All the actors perform quite well, but there characters are not as interesting as in the first film.
Gore
Rivals the first film, with crawlers being crushed by boulders, and fingers and chunks of skin being bitten and chopped off. Also some gruesomely dismember bodies.
Sex/Nudity
None
Final Thoughts
"The Descent" was a classic, and in my opinion one of the greatest horror movies ever produced. Part 2 however, whilst still a good horror flick, is not on it's level. The gore and cool creatures are carried over from the first movie, however the characters are not as not as interesting and the script was kind of weak. It also failed to create the same level of suspense and terror, that the first one nailed. However, despite it's short comings when compared to the original, its still a good horror movie, and by all means worth obtaining, just try your best, when watching it, not to compare it the its predecessor. if you do, you will be disappointed.
