Fan of the Dead (2007)

Horror Documentary     Not Rated

Plot

Fan of the Dead is an amazing 52 minutes road-movie documentary revealing the filming locations of Night of the Living Dead (1968 & 1990 remake), Dawn of the Dead (1978) and Day of the Dead (1985), with exclusive interviews with the cast of the George Romero's trilogy.Nicolas, a French fan of the original Living Dead trilogy, went to Pennsylvania to find all the secret places where the films were shot. Roaming, day and night, the steep roads of a sometimes lugubrious Pennsylvania countryside, he found and explored the coveted places: house, cemetery, mall, private airport, military base, underground facility... and much more!

Acting

None, it's a documentary, but it does feature appearance by Ken Foree and most of the cast of Dawn of the Dead. The guy who made the movie is french, so whenever he talks there is a dubber heard, and the dubber is terrible, he easy to understand, but hes completely mono-tone and there's none of the guys excitement is shown.

Gore

None, they talk about many of the famous scenes from these movies, but don't show them.

Final Thoughts

This movie is not what I would really call a documentary, as it's pretty much just a guy filming himself while touring locations from these movies, and movie conventions. It doesn't provide anything really new, as the "exclusive interviews" last for all of about 2 questions each, but it was sometimes enjoyable to see these iconic locations after so many years. Its short and not exactly boring, but its really just for big time Romero fans, and not for anyone looking to learn about him or his movies.
