Fragile (2005)
Horror/Thriller Rated PG-13
Plot
As the new night nurse at a soon to be abandoned children's hospital readies the last group of orphans to leave, it becomes increasingly clear that these are not normal children. Something living in the hospital, something the children call the "mechanical girl," has a terrifying hold over them and will stop at nothing to keep them in the hospital with her forever.
Acting
Although I have never, and likely will never be a fan of Calista Flockhart, she does give a very strong lead performance here, and is strongly supporting by Gemma Jones, Elena Anaya and Richard Roxburgh, among others.
Gore
There is a little blood, but even for a PG-13 movies, its was minimal.
Sex/Nudity
None
Final Thoughts
No gore, no sex, no cheesiness, just plain old fashion storytelling. Very much an homage to the early days of Vincent Price type ghost story's. Well thought out and well executed. Don't let the PG-13 rating deter you either, as its still very gritty and dark, and was clearly a movie intended to be PG-13 and not one just made that way for marketability. Why it took so long for this movie to finally be release I will never know, nor will I understand, but you certainly should see it.
