Hunger is a dark exploration into the breakdown of humanity. How far would you go to survive in the most extreme of circumstances? Five strangers awaken to find themselves trapped in an underground dungeon. They soon realize they are the subjects of one man's sadistic experiment to test the depths of a human being's will to survive. As the days go by with no means of escape, their hunger increases as their humanity fades away.

Lori Heuring is very good as the sympathetic intelligent heroine, and Bjorn Johnson, and Linden Ashby are more than adequate as the muted psychopath, and the ill-fated hero.

A slit throat, some cannibalism and stabbing, most of which happens off screen.

Some man butt during a mostly clothed sex scene.

For a while I just wanted this movie to end, but as the story, which itself is a bit of a variation on what has become known as the "torture porn" genre, develops more and more I slowly gets more compelling, and leads to a nice conclusion and overall final act, which make it worth watching despite the very slow moving start.
