Killer Instinct (2001)

Horror/Thriller     Rated R

Plot

A series of unsolved crimes from the past prove to be the common thread in three stories that intertwine to reveal big problems in a small town.

Acting

Although Corbin Bersen and Dee Wallace Stone get top billing, there both play supporting roles, and Bernsen's in particular is very small. The rest of the cast of unknowns are serviceable but nothing more than that.

Gore

Glass shards through the chest and a decapitated head.

Sex/Nudity

A few topless sex scenes, and a topless shower scene.

Final Thoughts

While the description of the plot may make it seem like its an anthology, it is not there is one main and very generic story  about kids in an old house getting slaughtered, with a few side story's, which is where Wallace and Bernsen come in. As stated before the main story (the other two as well for that matter) is generic, and overplayed, but it is done better here than in many situations, it kind of seems like a made for cable movie with a few nude scenes thrown in. While the acting is still OK, I don't quite get why Bernsen is alway relegated to these very small roles in movies like this, where he is almost always the most talented member of the cast. He certainly deserves better roles. It under uses the only people in the cast with any name value, and its very generic and vanilla, it is still however better than much of the similar movies, and i can't say i was disappointed with it, as it pretty much delivered what I expected from it. Watch it, just don't get your hopes up for something great.
