Plot

A cowboy hat wearing, samurai sword wielding Priest is on a quest for vampire blood. He's out for revenge on a "clique" of four vampires who are traveling across country in search of "pure blood". The human blood has become polluted by drugs, alcohol, aids and anything that changing the blood. Live Evil is what is written on the playing cards left on the bodies of dead vampires that this mysterious priest/hunter leaves in his wake.

Acting

The cast is full of b-level horror stars, that are lead by Tim Thomerson, who is great in the lead role as the vampire hunting priest. The cast also features, Ken Foree, Tiffany Shepis, Mark Hengst, Asa Wallander, Lee Perkins, Eva Derrek, Elissa Dowling, Gregory Lee Kenyon, and other in a variety of supporting roles.

Gore

Ton of gore, bit off penis, popped out eyeballs, decapitation, sliced up heads, arms, and other body parts, slit throats, impalement, blood pools, and babies, who are eaten, turned into vampires, kill there parents, and are then brutally killed themselves.

Sex/Nudity

Brief full nude shower scenes, some boobs and butt during multiple, pre-sex scenes, and some random naked people at a party.

Final Thoughts

The first thing that came to mind when watching "Live Evil" was "Near Dark" as it reminded me of that film in many ways, expect that this focuses more on the hunter than the vampire clan. "Live Evil" also fully delivers on the gore, There are multiple great gore scenes, and even some that are fairly inventive. The negative things about this however where that the acting outside our lead character was suspect, and the story is really nothing original as since "Near Dark" this has been a popular formula for Vampire movies, and it was a little too long (10-15minutes) and narrowly avoided over staying its welcome. A must see movie for vampire and gore fans alike.
