Mandrake (2010)

Plot

An expedition led by adventurer DARREN McCALL and funded by the wealthy Harry Vargas braves the impenetrable jungle to retrieve a fabled bejeweled dagger from an ancient burial ground. But pulling the dagger from its rightful resting place awakens the long-dormant plant creature - part plant, part animal, and all bloodthirsty -- and sends it on a feeding frenzy from which there seems scant hope of survival or escape...

Acting

The cast, lead by Betsy Russell, Max Martina, and Benito Martinez do the best they can with what there given, but are certainly capable of more.

Gore

Human bodies are split in half and impaled complete with blood splatter.

Sex/Nudity

None. It's a SyFy channel movie, which is where i watched it, and while many of there movies have added nudity when released on DVD, i would not expect this to be one of those.

Final Thoughts

Incredibly similar to superior Sci-Fi channel (thats what it was called at the time) movie "Man Thing" only it's set in a different jungle, and it is not as well scripted. There's really nothing wrong with this movie, it's well acted, and decently produced, but it's just so generic and uneventful, that its really not worth watching.
