Plot

A father and would-be ventriloquist communicates with his kids, Leon and Ursula, via a full-size medical dummy. But when dad dies, Leon retains a creepy connection to the mannequin. He also becomes psychotically protective of his now-grown beautiful sister, and mayhem ensues.

Acting

Leads Cynthia Preston and especially David Hewlett give very good performances as the normal girl and her psychotic brother. Terry O'Quinn is also strong as always, though his character departs early on.

Gore

None

Sex/Nudity

There's some  fully clothed sex scenes involving humans and dolls, and a girl is topless while preparing for some sex that never happens.

Final Thoughts

A very odd an intriguing story that seems a lot like something that you would see from Full Moon Pictures, though they had nothing to do with it. It moves slowly, but never drags, and is very well acted and scripted. Nothing at all in the gore category and little sex, but great characters and pacing, it's one hard to find "cult classic" that is well worth seeking out.
