Razor Blade Smile (1998)

Horror     Rated R

Plot

A 19th century woman, who has become one of the undead, acts as a hired killer in modern times. When she starts knocking off part of the elite businessmen, "The Illuminati", who secretly are taking over business and the government, she becomes the target of a hired Scotland Yard detective. Of course, the head of "The Illuminati" is the vampire who first gave her immortality.

Acting

Eileen Daly is perfect as the lead vampire, and Christopher Adamson and and Kevin Howarth are also very effective in there supporting roles. Also feature David Warbeck very briefly in what would turn out to be his last appearance before his death.

Gore

Blood flow during vampire attacks, stabbings and a decapitation or two.

Sex/Nudity

Breast and man butt during a few sex scenes, as well as a topless lesbian sex scene.

Final Thoughts

This movie is directed by Jake West, who would later direct "Evil Aliens" and "Dog House", and it a prime example of great low-budget film making and is exactly what people like me are hoping for when we watched all this crap. Despite a very small budget, it packs in some great acting performances, a creative, well thought out, and smoothly written script, and very good production values. They do a great job of hiding the weaknesses, and extenuating the positives associated with this type of film. It also combines all that with a very good score, and great visuals. It goes maybe 10 minutes too long, but it still a movie that all b-level horror fans should see.
