Saw VI
Horror/Thriller Rated R
Plot
Special Agent Strahm is dead, and Detective Hoffman has emerged as the unchallenged successor to Jigsaw's legacy. However, when the FBI draws closer to Hoffman, he is forced to set a game into motion, and Jigsaw's grand scheme is finally understood.
Acting
Tobin Bell is terrific as usual in a more limited role. Costas Mandnylor and Shawnee smith are average as always, and Betsy Russell is good in her extended role from most of the previous movies. This edition also features Tenedra Howard who won the VH1 show "Scream Queens". I loved that show, but always thought Lindsay Felton should have won, and after seeing the movie, i still think that. Howard however is fine in her role, which is very small, and after the first 5-10 minutes of the movie, is never seen again.
Gore
There is still lots of gore in this movie, although i think its a bit lighter than the other. Some examples include the usually self mutilations, a gunshot carousel and hanging by barb wire.
Sex/Nudity
None
Final Thoughts
Although the gore is not as prevalent as the other films, it still much more than you find in 90% of horror movies and especially those found in the mainstream. The crime/thriller and story portion of this however, is probably the best of the series, and really much better and more intriguing in the others. Saw 6 is certainly an improvement over the last 2 entries, and probably the strongest since the first one. Definitely worth seeing, a top of the line sequel.
