The Outing (1987)
Horror Rated R
Plot
An ancient genie is released from a lamp when thieves ransack an old woman's house. They are killed and the lamp is moved to a museum to be studied. The curator's daughter is soon possessed by the genie and invites her friends to spend the night at the museum, along with some uninvited guests. The genie kills them off in an attempt to fulfill her ultimate wish.
Acting
80's horror isn't exactly known for great acting, but this is worse than most. None of the actors are very good at showing any emotion.
Gore
Blood and brain matter splatter on stuff, a head is crush in a helmet, and some finger are bitten off by a mummy. Most violence take place off screen.
Sex/Nudity
A women is topless as she attempt to go skinny dipping, she never makes it to the water though, there's a fully nude bathing scene, and a women is stripped topless and rapes, which also show man butt.
Final Thoughts
The Outing is a great example of classic 80's camp. There's very little on screen talent, but i thought very solid direction from Tom Daley, who for some reason, never made another movie (as director at least). This is a movie definitely worth seeing for 80's horror fans, and is probably one of the better ones you will see, outside of the mainstream slashers. Pick it up!
