The Tribe (2009)
Horror Not Rated
Plot
When a devastating boat crash shipwrecks a group of friends in the jungles of an uncharted island, they are savagely picked off one-by-one by a cannibalistic enemy that evolution forgot. A horrifying action-adventure in the vein of Predator and Lost.
Acting
I like Jewel Staite and she was serviceable in the lead, but there was something that didn't quite allow me to fully believe her in this particular role. Kellan Lutz is the most effective member of the supporting cast, which also includes Nikki Griffin, Justin Baldoni, and Marc Bacher.
Gore
Some puncture wounds, spilled innards, and a decapitation.
Sex/Nudity
None
Final Thoughts
A slight, very slight variation on the lost in the jungle movie that was so popular during the exploitation days of the late 70's and early 80's. The creature effects where pretty good, and the cast was acceptable, but there was nothing that stood out at all, not particularly suspenseful, and not a ton of action, and in at least one of the action sequences, you can see when the wire catches a falling body. Still better than many of the crap released in the aforementioned era, but not really worth the work it will take to find a copy of this. Also known as "The Forgotten Ones"
