The Unwelcomed/The Arrival (1991)
Horror/Sci-Fi Not Rated
Plot
When an old man witnesses a strange meteor land, he finds himself growing younger, but his renewed youth has a price; he must kill or die. He is a vampire, but it is not blood he needs to satisfy his cravings. A series of murders in which several women are brutally slain leads the police on a confusing chase across several states.
Acting
The cast overall is quite solid overall with a few solid cameos, and a fine performance from John Saxon as a cop on the trail of the killer. (Hasn't he done that a few times?)
Gore
Very minimal, just a cut throat and a few more minor things.
Sex/Nudity
A very brief and very skinless sex scene.
Final Thoughts
Also commonly known as "The Arrival" Directed by early Full Moon/Charles Brand contributor David Schmoeller , who previously directed "Puppet Master", "Tourist Trap", Netherworld and Catacombs, this movie tells a good multi-dimensional story, that well goes a bit slow never manages to lose the viewers interest. It also never relies on gore or sex to keep it going, and remains reliant on solid acting, directing, and story telling, which worked here very well. A good movie well worth you time and money, especially considering you can get it from discount DVD companies for as low as $1.
